The Test Tube Board

If you thought the beavis board sounds like fun, then you will definitely be interested in the Test Tube Board. This new device is an add-on to the beavis board and provides you with a great way to add low-voltage tube designs to your projects!

The test tube board consists of a small metal enclosure with a 9-pin tube socket wired to a terminal strip, all tied together with the patented beavis Hunk-o-Wood. Set the test tube board next to your beavis board and you can easily create tube-based boosts, overdrives, and other fun projects. Additionally, you can use simple tube-based circuits as add-ons to existing beavis board projects. For example, you could create a tube booster that drives a boutique overdrive circuit.

How Does it Work?

Simple: set the test tube board next to your beavis board, insert the tube you want to use, and use jumper wires from your beavis board breadboards to the test tube board's terminal strip.

What's Included?

The test tube board includes

  • the board itself

  • 3 tubes: a 12AX7, 12AT7, and 12AU7. These are dual-triode tubes used in the preamp section of just about every tube amp out there and are great for building low voltage pedals.

  • a 12vDC adaptor. Many low voltage tube designs work better at 12 volts. You can plug this adaptor right into the back of your beavis board and it works great with the beavis board voltage sag control.

Wait! Tubes! Doesn't that Mean I can Electrocute Myself?

Nope, the tube board is designed to run tubes in low-voltage mode (9-12vDC) so it is perfectly safe.

How Much Does it Cost and How Do I get One?
